Hi everyone
Here we are at Keswick. Part holiday and part going to the convention to hear DonCarson. Yesterday we had a lovely time walking Alpacas round the Lingholm Estate and even paddling in Derwentwater . The weather has been glorious and the fells have looked amazing.
Whippet Wonders
Life with 2 mostly wonderful whippets, a miniature schnauzer, a giant schnauzer, 3 chickens and a lovely husband!

Thursday, 19 May 2016
Here we are on 19th May 2016. I haven't posted for a while but a lot has been happening on the health front sadly. A 6 day stay in hospital for an asthma attack last October. Since then repeated chest infections and continuing problems with the back and lots of pain.
Horlicks has been fine but poor Mylo
has been in and out of hospital with a kidney infection recently. You can see our new addition - a rescue pup called Harley. He is an absolute sweetie. He was 8 months old when we go him. He has settled in with the whippets really well. Lulu is tottering along. She is now 13 but is deteriorating. Her spine is affected so her back legs are weak and she is very wobbly. We love her dearly and will miss her so much.

October 1st
Doesn't time fly! A lot has happened since my last post. Tim's dad sadly died. We have been to Barcelona, I ended up in hospital there for 9 days -should have been a four day visit. We had a fab trip to South Africa in July . The Drakensberg mountains, a ride in a gam park through a herd of giraffe. A bit like being in a Disney movie! A bit of history, the battle sites of. Colenso and Spioenkop. The Nelson Mandela capture site and memorial sculpture. I will try and post pictures of it.
The whippets are well. Lulu is still pottering along despite the vet saying 18 months ago she could just drop dead because of her heart!
Homer hasn't been too well, he was in the vet for 6 days with serious vomiting. He is now a bit better and supposed to be having work done on his teeth next week. They tried last week but his blood tests showed his liver wasn't up to a general anaesthetic. Poor thing ended up tripping a bit on his premed and had to go back in the evening and stay at the vet overnight on a drip.......

Not a post in ages ~ oops! anyway at present the whippets are well. Not always the case. They both came out of kennels with conjunctivitis at the end of July. This has gone round Homer, Lulu and the whippets again and back to Lulu twice more. She's still on antibiotics.
Horlicks has had a couple of bouts of pancreatitis this year. Last sunday he managed to snaffle some foil I had grilled bacon on (not the bacon!), so I whacked him onto Zantac just in case. he seems fine although it has to be said he wasn't keen to do the jumps at the agility class last week. this is uaually a sign he has a sore tum. Anyway he seems ok. Mylo is such a sweetie, he loves playing in the garden by himself flinging round this rabbit comforter (from a well know store which Twiggy modelled for). it was bought as a present for a friend who had ababy, however it was all wrapped up in an jiffy bag waiting to go - I went upstairs to get a white parcel label, came down and found Horlicks had got to it. I decided the baby wouldn't like a toy test driven by a whippet...

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to everyone!
An eventful Christmas for Horlicks who went to the vet on Christmas day and had pancreatitis! Too much cheese and sausage at dog training... oops
